This website is intended to be a resource about all aspects of keeping fit and preparing oneself physically for whichever sport you’re participating in. The writers of this website are all keen sportsmen and sportswomen who between them regularly partake in dozens of different sporting disciplines.
To name just a few of the sports we tend to concentrate on, we have mountain bikers, road cyclists, swimmers, runners, badminton players, footballers and much more. The triathletes among us obviously combine a few of those disciplines.
Preparation for sport is vitally important, especially as each of us gradually ages. The joints don’t work quite as well as they once did and if you prepare well, warm up and stretch when you’re younger, it will pay off twenty years down the line. The preparation for each different sport should be approached in an individual way and we will show you how to do this sensibly. Some stretches are better then others and equally some are better for those with certain joint or muscle problems.
For each of our major sports we will also provide a basic routine to get you started. if you live in a cold climate where the nights can shorten dramatically at certain times of the year, it helps to have a solid routine to stick to when you’re struggling to get out of bed in the morning for a jog or tired after a day’s work.
Equally for hot countries, it can be a real hazard to health training in 30C+ degrees temperatures before you’re acclimatised. When it’s also humid and you just can’t be bothered, stick to the routine and you’ll always be glad you did.
Please check back regularly to our site as we gradually add training tips, warm-up routines and other information to help you get the most out of your chosen sport.
